HWF s'cap by JudyB
2-8-11

This s'cap was made by Mojo from Beans' 2/8 video entitled "High Alert & Calls at the Sidney Nest" posted below. Green lines were added to point out the lines in the nest. emc noticed line #3.

Numbers and green lines indicate the position of the three visible strings/lines in the nest.

Video by beans

"High Alert & Calls at the Sidney Nest"

Here are some more detailed notes by mojo to describe the movement of the lines in Beans' video:

All three lines are clearly visible from the beginning of the video.  When Ma arrives at 1:35, you can see lines #1 & 2 being moved around by her feet and tail feathers, especially from 1:41 to 1:57.  Movement of line #2 is again visible at 6:17 when Pa steps on it.  Movement of line #3 is visible between 6:26 and 7:47.  The way in which these lines are moving is indicative of a flexible string/line of some type.

February 16, continued

2/16/11, 11:41:51 a.m. PST

2/16/11, 11:42:52 a.m. PST

This seems to indicate that two lines are wrapped around his neck, causing that bunch of feathers to stick straight out.  I noticed this post by EMC of one of Harry's pics - http://www.ournaturezone.com/index.php?topic=127.msg44744#msg44744    In that pic you can see that the apparent 2nd line was lower down on the neck three days ago, and appears to have shifted upward since then.

Screencap by Mishi: Pa preens his leg (what is the object he is pulling at?)

I took several s'caps of Pa Sid on the nest this afternoon, and have grouped them together by head position.  The first group are images of the right side of the neck.

The second group show the back of the head blowing in the wind.

The final group show the left side of the head, with arrows indicating the indentation in the feathers that was continuously visible.

These images have not been sharpened or enhanced in any way.
