Looks like 2 of the 3 eggs hatched at Blackwater:

Here is our eaglet scorecard:

1st egg:
Laid: 1/13
Hatched: 2/22

2nd egg:
Laid: 1/16
Hatched: 2/24

Both chicks were close to a 40-day incubation, which is a little longer than we normally have at this nest, and we’re not sure if it had anything to do with the cold winter we’ve been having.

Thank you birdvoyer  :ecsmile I sort of try to keep an eye on this nest, but with 15 second refresh pictures, it's quite hard to sometimes. I was dreading a third egg, but there it is. Gosh, the dates are all about a month earlier than last year, I think. Hope it's not too cold for them.

Many thanks, Birdvoyer, for the update on this nest!

Laurad, the eggs were laid around this time last year  (the first post on this page mentions laying dates of 1/10 and 1/13), so I think they are pretty much on track for this nest.

So right Nancy, I glanced at the previous dates and for some reason thought March - no logical reason. I just have to turn dates around when written the American way and sometimes just get it wrong.  :blush I should have known better as I do keep an eye on this nest.

:eccry For those who follow this cam, there is sad news.  In light of the horrible winter here, I am not terribly surprised but feel so sorry for this dedicated pair. To read more on their site https://blackwatereaglecam.wordpress.com/

From their FB page:

"We're very sad to announce that the 2015 Blackwater Eagle Cam season has come to an end. Last night, our final chick died after the adult left it uncovered in the cold. It's behavior we did not expect and have never seen before from an adult on the nest, but it means our season is finished. We'll post an update to our Eagle Cam Web Log tonight discussing the situation and what might have happened."
