White Rock Bald Eagles
« on: November 05, 2010, 05:14:01 PM »
White Rock Bald Eagles - Surrey, British Columbia

From the Hancock website:

“On a private portion of the White Rock bluff overlooking Boundary Bay is a small grove of evergreens. One tree, only about 100 feet from the back porch of the home, has an eagle nest in it. The owners have donated the installation of two cameras for us to watch this active eagle nest; one in the tree near the nest, and one in an adjacent tree overlooking the nest tree.

Note that the infrared lights installed in the nest cannot be seen by the eagles, only by the cameras.”

Thank you beans for setting up this topic. Another beautful pair of eagles. They are about an hour's drive from where I live.

For anyone that needs an eagle fix while Mom & Dad Hornby are out of the nest, the White Rock eagle cams at WE have two amazing cams with amazing views. These eagles are in and out a lot every day, and the wide angle cam (link below) is perfect for viewing both eagles together if you are lucky enough to catch them. Great fly-in and fly-out view, also.

Here is a screencap from 11/12/2010

Dizzymom, a beautiful screen cap of both eagles.  Their nest is in a beautiful area.

Today is cool and and foggy.  An empty nest at 3:40 p.m. (nest time)

I got a close-up screen cap of what I believe to be the "Mrs." in the White Rock nest this morning. It appears that she also has a part in the back of her head.

It's a beautiful view, Passerine. I watch it beside the Hornby cam every day. I have lots of screencaps but I don't want to flood the thread with lots of pictures. I am going to post a link to my Flickr page with my screencaps if you want to see them all. I add to them frequently.

Dizzymom, those are very nice screen caps.  Please keep sharing them here, too, since not everyone has FB and they surely will enjoy them.   :eclove

Thanks Tiger. Those pictures were on Flickr, not Facebook, and I believe anyone can view them. However, since Passerine insists,  :eclol I will also post one or two a day here, if I get some good ones.

Believe this to be the "Mr." flying into the White Rock nest on 11/16/2010. "Mrs." is waiting for him in the nest.
