Own A One of A Kind Eagle Quilt

"EAGLES IN THE SUN"

Own a one of a kind Eagle Quilt

In the long dark days of the early spring I decided I needed to work with some colour around me, and I decided to make a quilt to celebrate our much-loved eagles, and put it up for auction on eBay, with the idea that the proceeds would be donated to the Hornby Eagle Project.  I have always believed in contributing something to any interest in which I become involved.

This is a “one-of-a-kind” quilt and measures 46” x 52˝” – just a nice size to snuggle under the eagles’ wings on a chilly winter evening.

Made of all cotton fabric.  Machine pieced and machine quilted.  Maker’s label on the back.  Predominant colours: Black(charcoal)/Gold/Brown/Cream.

The slashes of golden yellow reminded me of the morning sun rays shining on the nest – so the title became “Eagles in the Sun”.

The quilt will be listed on eBay on July 1st for a period of 10 days.  It will be listed under Crafts > Handcrafted & Finished Pieces > Quilts.  The Item No. is: 2904488188740.

Would one of you like to own this quilt?  Please follow this link to eBay: Link to quilt auction

fol-di brought this quilt to Hornby to show us all when she visited.
She displayed it at our weekly meeting of the Fabricators, fibre artists, & everyone was duly impressed!
i can vouch that this is a beautiful piece of work, lovingly crafted.
The back side has details different than the front side.
fol put a whole pile of work into this, & it shows!
It is a beautiful quilt.
wooohoooo!

Foldi, what a gorgeous quilt and it is doing so wonderfully on EBay also.
I am sure Phoenix and family will appreciate it.

foldi, I am very impressed by your piecing skills - I personally know that circular seams are NOT easy !!   and yours are perfect :nod2

I am curious about the backing ... will you tell us, is it light, dark, eagles or plain?  thanks!

Hi Nancy:

Thanks - I love doing curved piecing!

How could I have forgotten to take a picture of the back of the quilt ???  I will do that and post it here tomorrow.  Can't really describe it, but there is quite a bit of interest on the back too (which I always try to do with my quilts - they do have two sides after all!

Also, I should mention that if anyone wanted to make a wall-hanging of it, I would gladly attach a hanging sleeve to the back.

Thanks for asking about the back Nancy - I had so much on my mind I just forgot to do it, and now I have lost access to all my Flickr photostream, so will have to use Photobucket for now.
