Video:  Did Tenas Fledge at Lafarge Eagle Nest?

Video clip, followed by slow motion, followed by a screenshot.

I had been recording archives of the camera panning (fascinating - trucks moving in and out, people walking around), so I went back to look at the clip which corresponded with what may be a fledge.

Video:  What Do the Eagles See from their Nest?

The camera is panning and we are seeing what the eagles can see.

André Léon Marie Nicolas Rieu, who performs "On the Beautiful Blue Danube," was born October 1, 1949 and is a Dutch violinist, conductor, and composer best known for creating the waltz-playing "Johann Strauss Orchestra".

Beans,

I thought the eagles saw salmon, catfish, carp, possum, rat, duck, seagull and sticks.  :eclol :mhihi

Good to know their vision is well-rounded.

Hugs,

This little video was so much fun to make.  I wish it could have been shorter, but cutting off the music at 3 minutes just didn't seem or SOUND right!  The archives (which I recently discovered) end at July 28, so this was a great opportunity to record and save the view around Lafarge.  The only out-of-sequence clip is that of the workers walking and working at the plant.  Thought it was important to include them in the video.  The PTZ camera is pretty good, even if the tower on which it's mounted and the nest tree don't always move in unison....

The birds cooperated:  at 1:38 into the video, when the waltz begins, they start flying around.

A great video beans.  I am a big fan of André Rieu and his orchestra. Went to see him and the group here about 8 years ago. A wonderful evening.

How lovely to see Grouse Mountain and the Lions (the two peaks) at night. The view from Lafarge is north across Burrard Inlet to the 'North Shore'.

Enlarge the photo (on the bottom right side of the photo) and you will see all the storage areas on the North Shore.

nice, beans!  Is that the eagle I see in the tree, near the end? I read that she was in the tree for several hours recently.  Have to say I liked the music better than the view, mostly.

Beans, thanks for posting the video and giving us a 'heads-up.'   It's going to be interesting to see what this pair decides to do.  I wonder if they're discussing it?   :ecsmile

And what do they base their decision on in the end?   :puzzled2

Well, I'm still wondering...  there are branches on the tower, so perhaps they will go there?  It's disappointing that the PTZ camera didn't zoom in for a tight shot of the eagle in the tree.
