Circlebear, Maj, the wonderful lady who founded and runs MARS, the avian rescue facility where Niner and Brig are receiving excellent care, said that she expects both of them to be back on Hornby Island "before the snow flies."

Niner is eating solid food and Brig has started eating it now, too. That's a very good sign because sick birds often don't eat. Hopefully, they will be able to join other birds at MARS and learn how to do some of the things their parents would have taught them.

They need to become nutritionally and physically fit so they can build up their muscles and be strong enough to fly before they can be released. Maj, and the people who work with her at Mars, are well-trained and have released many birds back into the wild. We all hope that will be true for both Niner and Brig.
