thank you, birdvoyer.  I wondered if it was an accident or illness (which would be more worrisome)

Emc posted that the info at the other forum mentioned high winds.  I had thought of that too. I watched the video of the last sighting and it did not seem terribly windy at all. I, also, wondered if an intruder (owl perhaps) had gotten the eaglet. Thumper said that he hadn't heard anything that night. Just hard to say what happened without a witness. Hopefully, it was not illness Nancy. Einstein and Elsie need to build the sides higher I think.  :nod2

Morgan has managed to survive all of the horrible weather that has plagued the Missouri area. The wind still continues to blow rather hard every day that I checked in on him. It won't be long now before he fledges. He has been "wingercizing" and doing a little branching. He is right around 9 weeks old. I have no idea what normal fledge time is for this area. I am expecting to tune in and find him gone one day. Maybe in the next few weeks, he will join the rest of the "big guys!" I will wish him well.  :nod2

I did this screen cap a few days ago with wind blowing and ominous sky in the background. There were times I wanted yell "hang on Morgan!"

That is a lovely screencap, Birdy, thanks for posting that and an update.  I went to a couple of forums looking for info on the other eaglet, but as you say, no witness and no idea what happened her.

Beautiful capture. It looks so serene if you don't know the wind is blowing.

We still have a moment to listen.

A little early morning "wingercizing" by Morgan.   :ecsmile

And, at dusk, Elsie and Einstein in the area, possibly their "babysitting" tree?

Sure are some pretty views at this nest.  :nod2

Morgan has finally fledged the nest this morning. What a glorious sunrise for this great event! Another bittersweet moment in the eagle world. Morgan was believed to be the second eaglet hatched, on Mar 23rd, meaning s/he fledged at 80 days of age.

I wish Morgan safe flight and good hunting. Soar free, Morgan!  :heart

Gee, guess an update would be in order on this nest. There is the possibility of the first egg hatching sometime this evening (day 35). It is believed that there are two eggs on this nest this year.
