Nictitating membrane.

A bit dark, a bit later in the day, but shows a different view of the close up cam box than the other angles.

What a gem you found in that little spot.  Thanks for sharing your photos and movie clips so we can see a special moment between parent and young  :heart

i was down at Grassy Point & found both parents in The His & Hers Tree!
Mr. Em has red tail feathers, from something he was carrying in his feet against his tail.
Em to the left, Mr. to the right.
They are both looking out to the water.

Mr. Em, with his curlicue lip at the gape.

Mr. blinking his nictitating membrane.

They are both looking a bit bedraggled.
i think there hasn*t been enough food for all three of them.

As i clicked from Mr. Em to Em, i noticed they were in quite similar poses, so i did an animated gif to show you.
Em still has staining around her beak & a more hunched neck.

i love this guy.
He has been such a wonderful father.
