Do You Remember?
The morning Hali took her first flight?  The amazing view of her fledging?  Holding your breath as she took off?  Cheering after she made it to the Babysitting Tree?  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axvQ2i65aG4)  Feel free to share your memories of Hali!

Did You Know?
The cam is mounted high in a neighboring tree about 230 feet from the nest.  The cam has PTZ with a strong zooming capability.  It costs $5500 a year to provide the special view that allowed us to witness the fledge.

Can You Help?
HEGPS needs funding to keep the cam broadcast online.  If you want to continue to view the cam, and are able to do so, please donate at http://www.hornbyeagles.com/support.htm.  Any amount is appreciated.  Thank you!

Thank you all - we are making progress up the thermometer!

And I couldn't believe it when Hali took off to the right - holding my breath and hoping she could fly.  It was so unexpected - she had barely flown and fleaped around the nest and off she took.  What sheer joy for all of us to see her on what has become known as the Hali fledge branch.  In fact, it is the branch that Dad landed on last night on his way to his night perch on the babysitting tree.  When he landed I thought that is an odd place for him to land and then remembered Hali landing there on her first flight off the nest tree.  What a wonderful memory to have been recalled - thank you luvs!!

Do You Remember?
When Scootch fledged, took a misstep, and was away from the nest for three days?  How worried we were, then joyful when she was found and the cam operator showed her; safe and no worse for her adventures?  How well Scootch was being looked after by Mom Hornby?

Please feel free to share your memories here.

Did You Know?
The cam’s PTZ capabilities make it possible to follow eaglets post fledge. This has provided us with new information about what happens when an eaglet fledges and how the adults interact with them.  The cam costs over $5500 per year to operate.

Do You Remember?
Hope & Echo, Phoenix & Dudley, David & Alexandra, Hali, Scootch?  Share your memories here!

Did You Know?
Mom and Dad Hornby successfully fledged twenty-two eaglets in their years together on the nest they built in 1989!  Some years, there were no eggs, eggs did not hatch, or an eaglet died; but there were so many successes!  The OurNatureZone forum has a Reference Center for information on the Hornby Eagles at http://www.ournaturezone.com/index.php?board=26.0  It costs over $5500 per year to operate and maintain the cam and associated websites.

Can You Help?
HEGPS would like to continue to follow Dad Hornby and see if there will be eaglets in his future; but needs funding to keep the cam broadcast online.  If you want to continue to view the cam, and are able to do so, please donate at http://www.hornbyeagles.com/support.htm.  Any amount is appreciated.  Thank you!
