Here*s another gorgeous sub-adult who landed without me noticing in the Tree across the road from me.
Maybe a four year old, turning five this time?
Beak is very yellow, head feathers are losing the dark patches of a younger Eagle.
Eye quite yellow.

This Eagle was VERY interested in what was going on in Mum & Dad*s territory!

Another gorgeous sub-adult, perched in Niner territory, in a Tree right on the waterfront.
i noticed them from afar, when we were walking on the beach, & they gave me time to walk back & get a few fotos of them!
You can see the nice white tail of this one.
Yellow beak, yellow eye, four year old just about to turn five?

Later in the afternoon on sunday, i took Otto to the Niners* beach.
The whole hour & a half, the wind was roaring from the left & Eagle after Eagle of all ages were soaring against the wind, heading left, while Mum & Dad Niner trilled from their water side perch Tree.
There were at least three dozen fly overs.
It seems like a bit after this, they all showed up in Mum & Dad Hornby*s territory, following a Herring ball to the right.
i believe wren said there were lots of Eagles at Collishaw Pt.?
So maybe this is where they were all headed, then they came back to the right, as the Fish ball moved along to the right.

May 5, I paddled to Collishaw Point shortly before sunset.

This is a favourite seaside perch tree of the Niners and this one eagle with a stained face sat on it.

May 5, 7:39 pm

Halfway between that tree and Nest 7, here was an eagle pair! Meanwhile I could see another eagle perched on Nest 7, so this is not the Savoie Farm pair. I wonder if it might be the pair from the Syzygy nest, Nest 8. They have to hold a piece of shoreline somewhere. I know so little about this nest that I hesitate to even start a topic on it.

I can't make sense of the white visible under the female's back feathers. She seems to be drying her wings, or maybe she's just cooling down. This was one of the first really warm days.
Both eagles started calling, but I couldn't see who provoked those calls.

She's got a stained face too. Plus, it looks like a dark-brown mark on her outermost tail feather on the right.

In the Tree across the street from me.
There were vocalizations going on between the Nest & this Tree.
i am thinking the Niners have an Eaglet, but no hard proof as of yet.

Yesterday around 5:30 pm Otto & i walked to the mailbox.
Over the raucous chorus of the Robins, i heard the distinctive calling of an Eaglet from the Niner Nest!

i took some of the HIP Trippers to see the Niner waterfront territory.
We right away spotted this Eagle in their perch Tree on the road, near the water!
This is the Tree we used to be able to watch from the webcam, before the cam got raised.
They were saying that this was one of the Niners, but i was saying no, look at those dark head feathers!
This is a sub-adult!
But then i looked closer at my fotos.
Yikes!
This is an adult, who has dipped their head into something bloody while eating.
Looks like someone we are hunting for, eh?
They even have her skinny toes.
But unfortunately, it is not.

The closed eye was a bit freaky, but here it is, open & clear.

A bit later in the day, i passed this Tree again.
Looks like the other adult Niner this time.

What messy faces LOL.  I know what you mean about "looks like someone we are hunting for" even has toes crossed in a few of the photo's on the first post.
