The above report is a little confusing to say the least. Another member of FB's 'Karula & Family Photos' is friends with one of the Nkorho guides. He told her that there are many leopards and cubs about at present.

SOMEONE NEEDS TO TAKE & POST PHOTOS.

Luv, 'ask and you shall receive'  :eclol

I went to Facebook about 30 minutes ago and look what I found.  Karula with her latest cubs.

Photo taken on Feb. 25, 2013 by Andrew (guide / ranger) at Cheetah Plains Private Game Reserve.

  • Karula's 4th litter.
  • The cubs were thought to have been born in mid born Dec. 2013.
  • Cubs now about 2 months old.
  • Father believed to Mvula.
  • No mention as yet of the sex of the cubs.
  • Someone on one of the Leopard associated groups on Facebook thought the cub on the left looks 'brave' and has a dark necklace (like her Mum) and the one next to Karula seems shy.
  • Will Andrew be the one who names the cubs  :question

Many thanks to Andrew and the Cheetah Plains crew.  Do they realize how many people they have made so happy  :hooray

A member of the 'Djuma Djunkies' group on FB posted asking Cheetah Plains where they saw Karula ad her cubs.

Andrew Khosa (the guide who saw them) responded with:

Quote
we find her at vuyatela that morning she was moving east in to Torchwood camp side. since the cubs are not too sure about car so i didn't get to see if was male and female yet, wihich we still sure that they around vuyatela side......

'Torchwood' is east of DPGR, but in the Djuma/Vuyatela area. So in fact Karula didn't wander too far away from home. http://www.ournaturezone.com/index.php?topic=879.msg68548#msg68548

Cheetah Plains posted these two photos of our favourite female leopard (Karula) on Mar. 19. I think they may have been taken one or two days before posted. My captions are what was posted with the photos. There was no mention re cubs.

The photos are also posted in
News and Sightings from Reserves Other Than Djuma
with three photos of one of Shadow's (Tingana) cubs.  :eclove

March 22 Morning = two sightings of Karula and her two cubs. No photos as yet.

First sighting was by the Nkorho Bush Lodge Rangers

Quote
22 March Morning

I have no other word to explain what a drive we had other than Awesome!! We found the 4ways pride sleeping on the road 10m from where they were last night.
After them we found 2 Buffalo bulls and about 20 Elephant all in one spot. The young bull Elephants was chasing the Buffalo all over the place.
We then Left them and came across 16 Wild Dogs playing in the road. They then ran into a block and found a female Knob Billed Duck with about 4 youngsters. It was not a good day for the Ducks as only the female got away.
We left the dogs sleeping and made our way to a spot to have coffee but the spot was taken by Salayexe and her cub posing in the sun for us. On our way back home we found Female Leopard (Karula) + her 2 Cubs. It was so awesome the see the 3 of them doing well.
 Got to Love Africa!

Kind Regards
Nkorho Rangers

AND and about 4 hours later they were seen by Cheetah Plains

On this morning's game drive, we saw the leopard Female Karula and her 2 young cubs, both cubs are doing well, but they moved into the thicket before we could take any pictures. Will hopefully get some nice pictures of them again soon.

Karin van der Merwe of Nkorho Bush Lodge took these photos on March 23. No mention as to whether the cub in the grass is the other cub??

La Diva de Djuma looks as beautiful as ever and her offspring look well. One maybe shy and one full of fun.  All her litters have had a shy one and a bold one.

Many thanks to Karin and Nkorho Bush Lodge team.     :ty

And Diane Adsit posted March 26 re following video
Quote
This evening Karula was seen crossing the dam on Djuma camera with a scrub hare kill and the guide at Djuma said she was taking it back to the cubs!
