I can't for the life of me figure out where this link ought to be posted.  I heard an interview last night on NPR's All Things Considered with an African-American birder/wildlife biologist professor named J. Drew Lanham.  Here's a link to the interview. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=242829100

It's appalling how pervasive the racial attitudes he talks about are. I am embarrassed sometimes for all of humanity.  Here's a link to the original article in a publication called Orion that prompted the interview.  http://www.orionmagazine.org/index.php/articles/article/7812/

A very long but interesting article from National Geographic about airplane bird strikes. Seems a lot could be done, but it isn't happening.

The American Bird Conservancy is sponsoring an action to let our voices be heard objecting to the proposed poisoning of Ravens in Idaho. Here's a link to the petition site:

A very interesting story about a tree climber who is affectionately called, "The Eagle Whisperer."

I should say, 'affectionately' by humans and probably not by the eagles!  :ecwink
