Booni, thank you for 'doing the rounds' of the nests and keeping us informed about what's happening at the nests you visit. We are interested in the nests that don't have cams and you, Wren and Doug are our eyes and ears.   :eclove

I'm posting this happy news on several threads so that everyone who followed Brigabooni and Niner can rejoice tomorrow.

The eaglets will be released at 11 A.M. at the Big Qualicum River Campground.  http://www.qualicumfirstnation.com/

Maj chose this area rather than releasing them to Hornby because it is known that there are a lot of fish in the river and there are still many eagles there. They will be able to learn to forage well and learn from others, and that is a very good thing for them.

Maj has said that you are welcome to attend the release. It will be filmed, too.  :eclove

For people new to this forum...

The further adventures of the eaglet Niner, and the photos and videos of his release back into the wild, are posted in the "Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation" section of this forum, in the thread for Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society.

Niner was soon joined by 2 other eaglets from Hornby, Li'l Brig and Decker, and Rebecca, an eaglet from Rebecca Spit on Quadra Island.  From here on, their stories are woven together.

Click here to find the first of those postings... and read on!
