I think Mom and Dad Saanich would defend the old nest as part of their territory.

i think the original tree,and the tree they are just leaving behind now and very likely the new tree are in thier chosen territory, and not far from each other as the eagle flys,  or at most they have shifted thier territory slightly so would defend any part of what they feel is theirs. the fact that ppl put thier own fences in the middle of thier territories doesnt phase them ...  much
i sure hope they have a good season in their new choice.

If you're feeling sentimental, take a look at the Memories of the Sidney Eagles thread.

I just posted the tributes to Wendy and Bunnybits.  Both of them had big hearts and loved the Sidney Eagles.  And Skipper posted that beautiful candles tribute to Wendy, along with the quilt.

beans, thank you so much for the link to the the Memories of Sidney Eagles thread.   Needless to say I am a tad misty eyed.  :ecsad

Two lovers of nature, gone too soon; but well remembered.  I always looked for Wendy's morning photo of the nest; she had some great ones.  Bunny, started as a Mod just after me, that is how we met. Then some of us  in the Lower Mainland area met several times for lunch in various venues.   When I think of her, it is with a big smile.   :ecsmile

I put everything we knew and remembered about Wendy in the HWF Newsletter - Issue No. 1

You can find it here:

Nancy put together a beautiful Memorial Book for her - a lot of work!

Eagle nests seem to bring together the most talented, passionate and loving people. Thank you Blue and Beans for the walk down memory lane.

Blue, thanks for the reminder of the HWF Newsletter that included the tribute to Wendy.  And Nancy's memory book for Bunny was wonderful.

Blue, they must have meant your newsletter. Wendy was a special woman, I still think of her often.

~~~~~~~
According to recent reports (on HWF) from the Ground Crew, Ma and Pa Sidney are back and hard at work on their new nest.   :thumbup:
