Looking forward to it!  A good place to post snapshots from the cam and photos taken by those who live on or visited Hornby Island.  We were so lucky to view the eagles again this year and to see where they went when they weren't in the nest.  Thanks to our amazing cam ops!   :eclove

Floodwater wrote this poem in David and Alexandra's year.  But it is fitting for our Hali too!

If you ever lose heart and the earth seems as distant as stars fading into the noise of your busy mind, know this. That a tiny island exists in the blue hands of the ocean. That a tree grows upright into the salted clouds. That two eagles love each other enough to spend their lives greeting the morning sun together. That two eaglets stand in their nest, gazing at the heavens. Looking down to the forever ground. They eat and sleep and flap their wings. And one day in July, one by one, they will jump into the air. They will know the difference between existing and what is beyond. They will hold onto nothing. The hurricane will come, courage catching their pinions on fire, as they mount the wind, climbing ladders into realms of the invisible.

I brought a guest to our party. I think many have heard of him, but did not know.
I found him yesterday here in Brazil...

Time to say farewell, but not goodbye, to the Hornby Island Eagles.  Mom and Dad Hornby will return in the fall to begin restoring their nest in anticipation of eggs next spring.  What a successful season!  A fledged eaglet.   A new camera showing us both the nest and the surrounding area.

At the end of each season, I feel a sense of sadness but also anticipation for the next season. Over the years we've learned that there can be both tragedy (death of tiny Echo and beautiful Phoenix) and exhilaration (all the eaglets that have fledged). So each season is special and nothing should be taken for granted.

Good Morning everyone ~~~
I had to leave early last night so I just scrolled back in chat for a glimpse of the rest of the party. What a wonderful celebration! (((Mom, Dad, Hali, Nestree, BST)))

Thank you cam operators - fantastic job of showing us just what we wanted to see. Thank yous, Paintnut and Sparkie and Cawatcher, for the wondrous videos of our beloved eagles. I always look forward to getting home after a long day and seeing what happened that day. I would be lost without you.

Thank you AJL, Booni, Wren, Mishi, Beans, everyone!

Off to rehab center this morning .... catch you all later :heart :heart :heart
